Jannet Walsh, of Murdock, Minn., started her own photography business in Feb. 2012, after countless job rejections, and being laid off twice in the last few years.

She received help from a Small Business Administration partner in St. Cloud, Minn., called SCORE, http://www.stcloudscore.org, from retired executive Mert Hubbard, receiving coaching about her business start up over the phone.
